The OMS SideStream with 27 lb (12.25 kg) lift is a minimalist sidemount system that can be easily adjusted to the body length of the diver by adjusting the 5 cm strap. The SIDESTREAM27 has a back weight system that holds up to 15kg of lead, a "buttplate" consisting of 2 staggered D-rings for cylinder brackets and 2 waist D-rings, as well as a redundant bladder with a mouthblown and special OPV.

Although Sidemount diving has been developed primarily by cave divers, many divers can easily see the benefits of streamlining a dive system for other "overhead" applications, as well as open-ocean DPV races and "monkey diving".
